Energy, Enthusiasm, and Expertise
Bright Seeds is led by Caroline Howe, who served as DC’s Food Policy Director for 3 years, where she facilitated the Food Policy Council, led strategic planning for the District’s implementation of many Federal food programs, and developed dozens of research partnerships with local universities. She also worked to integrate food systems into both Small Area Plans and the District’s Comprehensive Plan, supported hundreds of small food businesses through the licensing process, and enabled creative collaborations for food access.
Prior to DC, Caroline ran several food businesses, started composting collectives on three continents, enabled youth climate innovation and engagement around the world, and helped communities build sustainability solutions. She has facilitated diverse, multi-stakeholder meetings in English, Spanish, and French, as well as those in 12 simultaneously translated languages!
While Caroline brings deep food systems and community engagement expertise, her energy, enthusiasm, and passion bring events to life.
